  media! In this 2-hour online workshop we will work together to pen indivi
 dual op-eds to submit to our local media outlets and then critique each ot
 her's columns to improve them. In just two hours\, you'll go from a blank 
 page to an op-ed polished and ready to submit!\n\nHow will we do this?\n\n
 In roughly the first hour of the workshop\, we'll have a short brainstormi
 ng session on what angle your op-ed might take\, general talking points yo
 u might include\, how you might tie it to local interests\, and so on. The
 n you'll draft a short piece of 600 to 700 words or so. You are free to tu
 rn your camera and audio off while you write so you don't feel like you're
  in a fish bowl\, but you'll stay connected to the meeting so you can get 
 help anytime if you get stuck.\n\nIn roughly the second half of the worksh
 op\, we'll go over each other's op-eds and polish them into submission-rea
 dy final drafts. Then you'll send it off in plenty of time for it to be co
