FIJA executive director Kirsten Tynan will speak about the juror’s traditional, legal authority to conscientiously acquit through jury nullification and about the impact of various changes to the jury system on its role in protecting individual rights. Her goal is to teach everyone something new in this talk, with special emphasis on jury issues in Texas. Even if you think you already know all there is to know about juries and jury nullification, there is probably still something you can learn from this talk! FIJA is an educational organization and does not endorse or oppose any party, platform, candidate, piece of legislation, or citizens’ initiative.
