Dear M R, An analysis of the despicable ruling in the Laura Kriho case and a statement of FIJA\\\'s position on the matter will follow shortly. For now, let\\\'s all say a prayer of thanks for Judges Rogers, Barnhill, and Nieto. And one for District Attorney James Stanley. Together they have brazenly demonstrated what the Fully Informed Jury Association has long maintained about this Nation\\\'s system of jurisprudence: it is corrupt. Those in positions of influence are determined to thwart justice by tampering with the jury pool and by intimidating jurors. It seems that we\\\'re back in the 17th Century -- trying to re-establish the primacy of the jury. After a century of steady encroachment, the jury has been crippled. But it has been crippled through mis-education and ignorance. At FIJA, we\\\'re trying to correct the misconceptions that subvert both the grand jury and the petit (trial) jury as the guarantors of individual rights. And we\\\'re doing it through education. If you would like to help rescue a deserving institution (the jury), please, join us. Sign up as a FIJA supporter. Help us get the word out. And, if you\\\'d like to help defend the system which may one day be your last chance for freedom, then help Laura Kriho fight her case in the septic courts of Giplin County, Colorado. On behalf of Laura Kriho and the jury system itself, I\\\'m asking you, \\\"Hey, buddy, can you spare a dime?\\\" If you can and will, put a $10 in cash, check or money order in an envelope and send it to: -- Laura Kriho Legal Defense Fund -- c/o Paul Grant (defense attorney) Box 1272, Parker, CO 80134 Email: pkgrant@ix.netcom.com Phone: (303) 841-9649 Laura will thank you. FIJA will thank you. Your children and grandchildren will thank you. -- Harvey
